Program description

The ICMS sport management program prepares graduates for careers in a variety of roles in sport management, promotion and sport marketing.

You will develop a thorough understanding of key concepts and theories relating to the sport management industry, specialising in key areas such as sport arbitration, sport event marketing and media management. A combination of fundamental knowledge of business principles and universal skills will equip you with the expertise you need to take your place in the global sport business environment.

Professional sport management includes everything from the management of elite athletes and major teams to the administration of mass market participation sports and the myriad of industries and government bodies that support them.

Curriculum 

ICMS Sport Management Programs provides graduates with:

  • “Work ready” skills and attitudes developed through the combination of comprehensive on-campus study and nine months of paid industry training in the sports management industry;
  • A distinct edge through a well-rounded and multi-disciplinary qualification relevant to today’s sports industry;
  • knowledge and skills in health and recreation, sports marketing, media and public relations, law, and business and management; and
  • the skills and practical experience to work successfully with sporting clubs, professional and amateur teams, players and elite athletes and sports events . Career

Degrees

The sport management program is available full-time in the two year Associate Degree or the three year Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Sport Management.
