Scholarship and Scholarly Practice Framework
Our Scholarship and Scholarly Practice Framework aims to build a scholarship culture at ICMS. It provides a systematic approach for academic staff, and guides them in their scholarly pursuits. This Framework aligns with our vision to deliver industry-focused quality education and student outcomes.
Scholarship Clusters
There are three interdisciplinary scholarship and research clusters at ICMS – Higher Education Leadership, Governance and Policy; Engagement and Innovation in Learning and Teaching; and Industry, Sustainability and Transformative Innovation. These clusters foster a positive scholarship culture and build capabilities among academic staff to develop rigorous and impactful scholarly outputs and activities. Our impact statements for each cluster align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Our Scholarly impact publication
‘Scholarly Impact’ is the online publication of ICMS. It supports the dissemination and impact of our scholarship by facilitating practical understanding and sharing of knowledge by faculty members to benefit stakeholders, industry and communities. There are three types of articles that can be published on Scholarly Impact – feature articles, opinion articles, and research notes. The Publication Guidelines for Scholarly Impact provides information for authors.

At ICMS, policies and procedures such as the Scholarship and Scholarly Practice Policy, Scholarship and Scholarly Practice Procedure, and Human Research Ethics Policy, among others, ensure the scholarly practices are strategic, sustainable, ethical and compliant. These policies and procedures provide clear guidance for all research and scholarly activities, fostering academic excellence across the Institution.
