The ICMS community prides itself on being more personal than what students would experience by studying at a university. We want you to succeed so we support you with an extensive range of services and facilities.
ICMS has extensive support programs in place to care for student’s academic and overall wellbeing. A sense of wellbeing is essential to a student’s learning and development, and critical to academic success. That’s why ICMS is not only committed to supporting our students’ academic success but also a student’s physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
ICMS offers a wide variety of academic support services for students.
Our Student Success Centre (SSC) has Academic Learning Advisors who will help you to develop your academic skills and prepare you for the cultural change to tertiary student life. The Centre is open from Monday to Friday every week of the ICMS trimester.
Take advantage of learning support available so you can achieve the best academic results possible. This could be in the areas of:
The SSC also runs a Peer Assisted Learning Service (PALS). High performing students volunteer to assist others in specific areas of their studies. Be it helping a student to grasp a key concept or steering them in the right academic direction, PALS mentors support students to succeed at ICMS.
ICMS remains committed to the physical and emotional health and well-being of our students. We all need help from time to time. The ICMS Wellness team provides appropriate guidance and personal support to our students if and when it is needed. If you feel overwhelmed at any time, or a personal problem arises, you can speak to our Wellness team who can help you or guide you in finding appropriate help.
Our Resident Assistants (RAs) are senior student leaders who live on campus and provide support to all ICMS students throughout the time at ICMS. They are responsible for the management of each floor of residence, providing support and security for residential students including emotional support, academic guidance, student safety, floor meetings, and kitchenette maintenance. They are also your student voice and can help you to resolve any issues about student life on campus.
Your RAs are there to help you through your time at ICMS. Chat to them if you require help while studying at ICMS – they will be able to point you in the right direction.
The Pollard Resource Centre is home to your ICMS library. It is equipped with computers, books, journals and audio-visual materials. Quiet areas and rooms dedicated to group study and meetings are also located in the Centre. Our high-speed printer/photocopier/scanner is available for student use.
Most importantly the library provides access to the College’s impressive collection of electronic resources, including hundreds of thousands of e-book and e-journal titles from internationally respected publishers.
Our friendly library staff will guide you in the efficient use of these resources. They will help you to find high quality, relevant academic resources for your assignments. During teaching weeks, the library opening hours are Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 7:00pm, Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. The library is also open on Saturday and Sunday 12:00pm – 5:00pm.
General facilities on campus include computer laboratories, tennis and basketball courts, café, bar, and a restaurant open to the public called the Grand Dining Room. Free wireless internet is available throughout the buildings of ICMS including classrooms and accommodation.
