International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) undergraduate students of the Bachelor of Business Management (Fashion and Global Brand Management) will be treated to three guest lectures from House of Dior Boutique Director, Christopher Watney.
Watney, based at the House of Dior, in London, UK, is ICMS’s Fashion Ambassador for the BBM (Fashion and Global Brand Management) degree.
Students of FBM103- Fashion Planning and Buying in trimester 2, will be able join the online guest lectures and share in Watney’s 20 years’ experience in the fashion industry.
“What an Incredible opportunity for our students to have someone who is so highly respected in the fashion industry as a guest lecturer,” ICMS Fashion and Global Brand Manager Program Manager, Fiona Buckingham said.
“He is at the very top of the fashion world, and has so much insight into this industry that he has graciously offered to share with our students. Chris will discuss the nuts and bolts of buying for luxury retail, as well as the glitz and glamour of what it means to work in the high-end fashion market in particular, and the fashion industry in general” she said.
Watney is impressed by the ICMS BBM(Fashion and Global Brand Management) course, “It’s wonderful to see Fashion and Global Brand Management getting the recognition of a degree,” he said. “What I like about this particular degree is that it blends business and high-end fashion into one degree; the perfect degree for the future industry leaders to undertake. I am looking forward to sharing more about the industry that I love with ICMS students.”
Mr Watney will be holding an information session on his T2 guest lectures at 8:30am on Friday 1 May. The session will be conducted in class time for FBM101.
Students not in this class will be able to watch the recorded session at a later date.
