ICMS is different from a university, in the traditional – large class, theory only focused sense. ICMS is different from a university because universities try to offer industry placements however, with large student numbers, it is far too complicated to place every student. Whereas Industry Training is a key part to who we are and what we do at ICMS. Every one of our degree students graduate with industry training; we have a dedicated work integrated team who places our students in real, world internships. Industry training is a subject, it’s a core part of the degree.

Personalised Approach

Small classes, whether virtual or face to face, are the norm at ICMS.  The ICMS approach to education is about mentorship and individual attention. Our classes are around 30 in a class whereas universities have hundreds of students in lecture halls. A smaller class size at our higher education institution is an environment for academic, personal and professional success. This personalised approach gives prospective students the chance to shine as individuals.

Support

ICMS students have access to 24/7 online academic support and one-on-one support. The individual attention that students get at ICMS does not stop outside of the classroom. All ICMS students have access to the Student Success Centre (SSC) and help from Academic Learning Advisors who will assist students to develop academic skills and prepare them for the transition to tertiary student life.  Universities struggle to offer one on one support.

ICMS students start working on their career success long before they graduate. The dedicated Work Integrated Learning team prepares students for their internship and graduate employment. From the very first year of study, ICMS students discover that ICMS is different from a university. These students are shown how to prepare a resume, practise interview techniques and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to secure the best possible placement to further their future ambitions.

Select a University or ICMS – is Bigger Better?

Bigger is not always better and that is what makes ICMS different from a university. In this case, when it comes to graduating with a degree that will be attractive to future employers because you already have work experience, smaller, personalised and career-focused, like the education offered at ICMS, is best.

• ICMS Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees are recognised in the same way as what is offered at universities. ICMS undergraduate and postgraduate courses are accredited and regulated through the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA), the national regulator.
• All Bachelor degrees, Graduate Certificates and Master’s degrees from ICMS represent high academic quality in the higher education sector in Australia and globally. Courses offered to international students have the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) Codes which indicate a registered program offered to international students studying in Australia on student visas.
• Students are able to select an ICMS course in the same way they would select a course from an Australian university – through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
